So I gather I can edit and rearrange photos while the upload is in progress and it will use the hash number to keep track of pictures that have been uploaded. The photos are deleted, we just keep it's fingerprint around in our database (a small 32-character string) to remember it by.īrenda - Thanks so much.I couldn't figure out how to reset the folders the uploader should scan. (it's more complicated than that, but that's the idea). So they don't need the copy of the image itself, only the calculated value that they got at the time of upload. With any file, you can create a "hash" number using the bits of the file and it can be used to create a unique identifier for that file. How else could Flckr know that a photo that's trying to be uploaded was previously uploaded, unless it had a copy of that photo to compare it to. If I've deleted a photo from Flickr, and also uninstalled and reinstalled the Uploadr, how does Flickr know that a photo I'm trying to upload has been "previously uploaded" ? I'm glad to hear the Windows app will soon have this functionalilty, but I have a very concerning question. I was having this same issue with the Windows app so I tried uninstalling the Uploadr to delete it's memory of photos I've uploaded. How do I get to that window/dialog box? thanks. Uploader is uploading my photos but I can't see the Flickr Uplodr window. Glad to see this kind of active development and finally some new features and other stuff. Will this feature fix that when it rolls out to Windows? Even if I uncheck it and recheck it in Uploadr, the album in question just spins for a second and switches back to the (green circle with the check mark) "synched" icon. Unfortunately, since Uploadr had already "seen" the album, it thinks all the pictures are uploaded and won't upload them again. I was hoping I could just delete it and re-upload using Uploadr. ![]() I had an album that was screwed up by another tool.
